  1. WE need groups like this…I live in Utah…and have no idea where to go or what to do….and often just sit home doing nothing when I know for sure there is someone out there for me…

    1. LaDawn, if you join the LDS Midsingles of the World facebook group it has all Midsingles Wards, Midsingles Conferences, Midsingles Dances, and local Midsingles facebook groups (including several in Utah) listed which will help you get the lay of the land in your area. http://bit.ly/midsingles

    2. I’m agree with the comment above; I live in Virginia and I don’t have single friends, there is days that i don’t know what to do and often spend time in the gym because that.. I know for sure there is someone out there for me.

    3. Hi read your profile on the lds website would like to say hello to you am also a member of the church am from Northern Ireland my Angela

  2. All of this information was a little overwhelming. I am 60, live in Temecula, CA and there is very little information about what is available for singles in my age group. It is like we are the forgotten group.

    1. Katie, for Temecula regionally there are specific 51+ Singles activities. To receive emails about local IE activities, join the Inland Empire Single Adult Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/inlandempire-ldssingles

For San Diego area activities including North County like Escondido, San Macros, and Fallbrook, go to http://ldsse.info

For Southern California regoinal activities go to http://ldssinglesoc.org

The largest Singles Conference in California is taking place in a few weeks at the Orange County Singles Conference w/1,200+ attending. Go to http://ocbcconference.com for all the details.

In Huntington Beach Stake, we have also specific 50s and Elite Singles 60+ activities too that you can receive emails about that draw singles from all over Southern California.

      Hope this helps. Thanks, Matt

  3. Haha. I love this blog. I just did a search for LDS singles. As an LDS convert to the church, I sometimes find dating in the LDS world hilarious. So many games. Sometimes this ex-Muslim gal just thinks people should just date how the Muslims do. As in, I’m very interested in getting to know you. Would you like to go out for a bite to eat? Why, yes, I would love that. Really…dating is not that hard. But I love everything the church has taught me.

  4. Hi Matt,

I want to thank you for all the information that you have on here. I live in Calgary, Canada.
Up here we have a slowly growing Mid-Singles program. We have been doing the Mid-Singles conference here in Calgary for the past 8 years.
We have had some success (not to the magnitude of Huntington Beach, but we also don’t have the same weather)

Now I have some questions for you and if you wish to chat off line that would be great. But we have been working at getting a magnet ward started but have been told that this is not approved by Salt Lake.
We could some pointers in helping this along.

    Thanks for all you do!

  5. I am moving to New Orleans, LA and can’t seem to find any information on mid-singles or even singles in the area. Any ideas?

  6. Hi! I’m going to be talking to the stake president about starting a mid-singles magnet ward in my stake and I’m preparing something to present. Do you have sources for your Mid-Singles Ward Magnet Outline post?

  7. This is sweet! I’m currently a YSA and randomly found that there is a MSA Magnet Ward in my home stake. That caused me to wonder… what is that?!?! And then I got here. I am a semi-OCD problem solver and after serving in YSAs as a missionary I had wondered how the heck to help MSAs! Your posts are way helpful!

  8. How can there be such a thing as a “mid-singles” ward. There is no such church program as “mid-singles”. See Handbook 2.

    1. In Handbook 2, Section 16.1.1 states “stake presidents may recommend the creation of a single adult ward for single adults ages 31 to 45 according to the guidelines in Handbook 1, 9.1.9.”

A “Single Adult” Ward for ages 31-45 is often used the term “Midsingles” to describe the 31-45 age range. This age range also has a church approved program too that many areas across the world are implementing.
